Our Story
We believe housing should be easier to build and access.
Founder Rohan Kulkarni first saw the challenges while visiting his father’s village in India, where families lived in crowded, ageing homes. Back in Canada, he noticed similar struggles of high costs, slow construction, and outdated methods that left many people behind.
Rohan teamed up with his friend and co-founder Salik Khan, who had worked closely with governments and First Nations. Together in 2017, they set out to create a better system: homes built faster, with more care, and designed to support families and communities.

Chief Executive Officer
Rohan combines a background in Architectural Technology with hands-on construction experience to develop the Lotus Building System, Rohe Homes’ foldable modular technology. Inspired by a visit to his father’s village in India, he is committed to making housing faster, affordable, and community-focused across Canada.
Salik Khan
Chief Experience Officer
Salik brings over 8 years of experience in Information Technology and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to create solutions that improve the housing journey for homeowners and small-scale developers. Guided by empathy and innovation, he focuses on making housing more accessible, sustainable, and impactful for communities in Vancouver and beyond.
Why “Rohe”?
We’re inspired by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and his belief that “less is more.” His ideas on building simply and efficiently guide the way we design and deliver homes. By using prefabrication and modular methods, we cut down on wasted time and materials while keeping quality high. Our goal is to make housing faster, more affordable, and easier for everyday people to create in their own communities.
